As we packed the gazebo and signage it looked like Seed Run 9 would be our first wet one. But it seems the weather gods have our back, and by 5.30pm Regent’s Park was bathed in the late afternoon sunshine. Lots of new faces as well as many serial Seed Runners, all catching up on summer adventures and the state of start-up land. I like to think of us as a small island of positivity in a sea of uncertainty. So much support and encouragement from a lovely group of people. I was having such a nice time that I almost forgot to start the run! As we started out at a gentle pace, Fred and I negotiated an over 50s truce with Dan Cobley and Mark Long. Who knew that Seed Run could be such an enjoyable experience. We chatted as we ran, what a change from the usual lung busting, heart bursting battle around the park. Great to see so many women running. We are still a way off 50%, so please spread the word and bring along your friends. Impressive running from Jia Ling Wong from Giant Ventures who came in first, closely followed by Chloe Staines, Natalia Rivas and Winsie Chen. Also congrats to Edgar Lapins who surged into an early lead and was not seen again until the finish. Edgar likes to get a couple of 100km ultras in each year to keep himself in shape, so he will take some beating! Well done everyone for raising $500 for Alex Iskold’s $1KProject. They provide direct support to families in need in Ukraine and with Winter now on the horizon, the need has never been higher. We're hoping to schedule the next Seed Run for late September or October. Keep your eyes peeled for an email. Enjoy the rest of the summer! Henry Seed Runners!
